Cindy and I stopped here for a night in October and were very glad we did. At the Yough Valley Motel, we found a friendly staff (Tina and Jeff Glotfelty, the owners), a clean, comfortable, and affordable room and everything we needed to make us feel at home for the evening. The room had a microwave, and small refrigerator and one of those little coffee pots (which we made good use of next morning). Spouse Cindy freaks out if the room isn't spotless or if she can smell cigarette smoke from previous guests, but Yough Valley passed the Cindy test easily...Clean and Odor Free.
Just up the road, we found the 'Good to Go' were we refueled our little car, bought a 6-pack of cold Corona's and ordered a pizza to take back to the room (after driving all day, you are allowed these small pleasures on occasion). In the morning, we found the breakfast buffet a block away at the Jubilee Junction Diner...and presto, we were on our way home.
Friendsville is a lovely little town in far western Maryland particularly so in mid-October with all the mountains ablaze in their fall colors. The Yough Valley Motel....clean, affordable, with all the basic amenities PLUS free wifi. I've already recommended this place to a good friend who travels that way to WVU football games in Morgantown WV.
